Lethrinops

Lethrinops ist eine Cichlidengattung deren Arten endemisch im Malawisee vorkommen. Es sind kleine bis mittelgroße Cichliden von etwa 10 bis 29 cm Länge im männlichen Geschlecht. Weibchen bleiben kleiner. Die Gattung wurde von Regan, 1922 aufgestellt. Typusart ist Lethrinops lethrinus (Günther, 1894). Die Tribus ist Haplochromini. Maternaler ovophiler Maulbrüter.
