Paleolamprologus ist eine monotypische Cichlidengattung aus dem Tanganjikasee. Die Gattung wurde von Colombe & Allgayer, 1985 aufgestellt. Typusart ist Paleolamprologus toae (Poll, 1949). Die Tribus ist Lamprologini. Der Artstatus ist nicht ganz klar und die Art wird bei Fishbase als Neolamprologus toae geführt. Diese Gattung wird hier eher der Vollständigkeit halber aufgeführt.
